Mr. Songco is the President and CEO of PinoyME Foundation, a non-profit organization organized by former Pres. Corazon Aquino to support to microfinance institutions by creating innovative financing instruments and schemes to promote microenterprise in the Philippines. He also serves as a consultant for the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, and has also consulted for bilateral institutions such as the Japanese International Cooperation Agency, USAID, among others.
He has taken leadership positions in civil society organizations such as the Caucus of Development NGO Networks and the Philippine Council for NGO Certification and i government bodies such as the Congressional Caucus Committee and the Presidential Management Staff. He also served in the board of directors of the Development Bank of the Philippines from 2001-2004.
He was an awardee of the World Bank’s Development Marketplace in 2000, was named the Ninoy Aquino Fellow for Public Service in 2002 by the U.S. State Department and was a fellow of Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship in 1999.
He took up Business Administration, major in management at the University of the East. In 1992, he was awarded a scholarship in Strategic Business Economics at the University of Asia and the Pacific. In 2005, he received his master’s degree in Public Administration at the Kennedy School of Government at the Harvard University.
